“Yes, I can!”

2012年08月30日 Posted by Nicky

Right now, we’re learning about sports and movement!

It’s a really fun theme with lots of great activities involving running around, jumping, skipping, and even galloping (like a horse!)

We’ve also been learning vocabulary to talk about what we can do!

We’ve only just started this theme, but one thing that has amazed me  is how quickly the kids have picked up this phrase:

“YES, I CAN!!!”

….whenever we ask them if they can run, crawl, tiptoe, etc!!

Keep it up, our active little superstars!!

Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!!!!

For the past two months, we’ve been studying the theme of WEATHER at English Now Myogadani! It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve been amazed at how much English the kids have picked up!!

One activity the kids really enjoyed was the song, “Rain, Rain, Go Away”!
Here are the words:

Rain, rain, go away,
Come again another day,
Little Johnny wants to play,
Rain, rain, go away.

In preschool, we played a game with this song, using an umbrella and a “raincloud” – but instead of saying, ”Johnny,” we used the children’s names!

I was so impressed at how well all of our students, even the little kids, were able to scare the rain away in a big voice: “RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!!!!!”

And in Mommy and Me, we did the same activity, but the Mums and little ones made their own mini clouds and umbrellas – they turned out super cute, and the kids loved the craft – even 5-month old H-chan!

This month, we’ll be studying sports and movement…I’ll keep you updated on all of the action and fun!!!

パパと私のStory Time

AfterschoolのKちゃんとパパ、一緒に絵本暗唱を楽しんでいます。

まずはKちゃんが…

Good job, K

Keep up the good work, K-chan and K-chan’s dad!!

Cut, cut, cut the banana..!!

Nicky

The weather’s getting warmer and summer is on its way!!

So we decided to make Summery fruit salad in preschool this week!

A lot of our preschoolers are still very young, with a few who moved up from Mommy and Me just 2 months ago! But they are AMAZING!!

As we were making fruit salad, they all listened carefully and responded to my instructions:

“Cut the fruit!”
“Put your (plastic!) knife down!”
“Wipe your fingers!”
“Put your hands on your lap!”

Check out little Y-chan, busy cutting:

It was actually very fun to watch the kids doing all of these things – and of course, they had the MOST fun, when they got to eat their fruit salad! It’s always so much yummier when you had to do the hard work of cooking first!

Myogadani Christmas Memories!!

2012年03月12日 Posted by Nicky

It’s already March!!! Can you believe it? It’s a new year and we’re learning new things every day!

But we wanted to share with you some of our memories from our 2011 Christmas Party here at English Now, Myogadani!

With everyone dressed in their best, we all had a lot of fun singing Christmas songs together.

Which made us hungry! So we then had a yummy Christmassy snack:

Of course, the kids (and the mummies and daddies!) used English to get their snacks, thank the teachers, and ask for the trash bag after they had eaten.

We also made a cute Christmas tree decoration. It was a fun challenge for the kids, who used more English to ask us for help.

Then it was time for everyone’s favorite part of Christmas – PRESENTS!!!!

As well as exchanging gifts amongst themselves, the kids also got treats from a very special visitor:

SANTA CLAUS!!!

It was a very fun day for all of the kids, parents and, of course, us teachers!!! It was great to hang out with you all.

See you again this December!!
